It doesn't happen often, but when it does it makes me a little nervous. I was hired by Lindsie and Scott without ever talking to them through their wedding coordinator (Paulette at A Black Tie Affair in Edmond). My worries were put to rest within minutes of arriving at the church. Lindsie and Scott were personable, fun, and genuine and I think the pictures reflect exactly that.

Lexie called and asked me to shoot a mini senior session for her. She had her senior pictures taken by the "official" photography studio and thought they were OK, but kind of boring. Here's what we came away with.

And you can see more (and then jump to ALL her pictures) from the slideshow here: Lexie

I had a chance to go to Chicago in the fall for a couple of days and am just now getting a chance to work on the images I took.

I don't know why, but I just love this shot. It was late in the evening and I was just wandering around when this woman, with somewhere to go, passed me on the sidewalk.

A homeless guy taking a nap.

Folk singers at the cultural center during lunch.

The water pump station that survived the fire.

Feeding the pigeons at the park.

A staircase in a downtown hotel.

The Chicago skyline reflected in the gigantic stainless steel bean shaped art in the Millennium Park.

Elizabeth and Evan, wow, you guys were so easy to work with! Your planning and attention to detail paid off because I don't think I can remember a wedding day going so smoothly and everything looked absolutely beautiful!

The ceremony took place in the early evening at Sharp Chapel on the TU campus and after the ceremony we ducked outside for a quick couple session as the sun was going down. After doing the family pictures we were off the reception at the Mayo Hotel downtown. Elizabeth decided to add the upgraded lighting package and the Mayo never looked better. The initial spotlight Gobo on the dance floor looked incredible! Eric with DJ Connections did a fantastic job keeping the dance floor going, and the food by Just Catering by Orr was delicious!

You can watch a slideshow of more of my favorites from the day by clicking here: Elizabeth + Evan's slideshow.

My kids are taking Tae Kwon Do and last Saturday was Belt Testing. Their instructor's instructor was there to oversee the the testing of over 30 students. It was fun to watch all the different skill levels testing for the next higher rank, sparring demonstrations, and even some board busting! I brought one camera and one lens to the test sight, and found the church gymnasium to be a challenging environment to photograph in due to the poor lighting. Here are some shots of my 6 year old.

You can watch a short slideshow with crouching tigers and flying dragons here.

Here is a slide show of a some of my favorite bridal shots from last year. Most of these were done on the wedding day. A good solid time line for the wedding day is essential for great photography, so if you don't have a bridal session done before the wedding be sure to plan your hair and makeup appointments early to allow plenty of time on the wedding day for your bridal pictures.

I couldn't sleep last night. This is unusual for me, so instead of tossing and turning, I got up and looked through every picture of each of the 39 weddings I shot this year. I picked out some of my favorites and thought I would share them here. Just click the picture below for the slideshow.

Enjoy!
