I love taking road trips - even when it involves two pre-schoolers (my two little boys) and multiple days of driving to get to the destination. So last week we piled into the car and drove to west Texas to visit my wife's family. I've never been to that part of the country so I was anxious to see what miles and miles of mesquite, oil rigs and cotton fields looked like. I was not dissappointed. We had a great time visiting, taking drives for picture opportunities, and eating way more than person has a right to eat!

Here are some photos from our trip.

It was Hot!

My wife's grandmother.

The "house" she lived in from birth to 6 years.

A ranch nearby. The ranch owner is kin to Sam Houston.

My wife's dad and I were looking for arrow heads, and watching out for rattle snakes!

Beautiful sunsets!

A wind farm. We saw several of these that stretched for miles and miles.

The locals say there is good fishing, though we never made it out to try to beat the record.

Very great pictures! Beautiful work. The portraits of the grandmam are sublime.
